John K. Romano is the Executive Director of the International Open Finance Association (IOFA). The IOFA is a 501 (C) (3) organization dedicated to capital formation for economic development. He has authored several books on the subject of small business capital formation and taught college courses to adults through various continuing education programs. His past speaking engagements have taken him through out the U.S. and Canada. He co-authored a white paper for the prestigious Journal Of Small Business Strategy in 2002. This white paper was later distributed at the 22nd annual SEC Government-Business Forum on Small Business Capital Formation in 2003. Mr. Romano’s educational content is playing a key role providing direction for state security regulators when formulating new public policy. His on-line course called “Capital 101″ is being reviewed by U.S. and Canadian securities regulators in an effort to develop educational standards for use by social entrepreneurs in accessing investment capital and complying with applicable State securities regulatory requirements. In 2003. Mr. Romano headed the breakout session that drafted the final recommendations to the Securities Exchange Commission pertaining to the Broker/Dealer finder issue. In the early 1990’s he was a former New York City Wall Street investment banker; and he presently he sits on the board of directors of Virtual Capital Group.Com  Mr. Romano has dedicated a large part of his career working at the public policy level helping small businesses to apply high tech capital raising methods to small and medium-sized companies. His experience spans over 15 years in Corporate Finance helping small companies raise money on and off Wall Street.
